Our offices in Spain have informed us that a meeting took place between Spain’s Ministry of Infrastructures and the longshoremen unions earlier today. Unfortunately they were unable to reach an agreement, and, as a result, the longshoremen have confirmed the days of their strike announced for February 20th, 22nd and 24th.
As previously reported, the slow-down of terminal activities has already begun, and some carriers have even advised they will skip the Spanish ports to avoid delaying their schedules. The attached notice from Hapag is one example of this.
